Sept. 27-30

It’s a busy time in West Feliciana and with so much to tell you, I’ll skip the introduction and go right to the heart of things. Here’s what’s happening this weekend and next:

Second Anniversary Celebration
Cypress Bar & Grill celebrates their second year, with live music featuring David Morgan & Chris LeBlanc, starting at 7pm on Sunday, Sept 30. For more information call 225-784-0992

Farmers’ Market
Yes, they’re still there every Thursday from 1 pm until 5 pm with the fresh produce from their gardens. I’m hoping to see pumpkins this week because I have a great recipe for “Dinner in a Pumpkin” that is now a family tradition. Come out and support our local farmers!

Listen and Speak Up
West Feliciana Parish residents are invited to attend a meeting Thursday, September 27 at 7 p.m. at Hemingbough with the consulting firm chosen to assist in planning the parish’s future development.
Residents will be asked to share their ideas on the parish’s future, according to the Center for Planning Excellence, which is helping the Police Jury with the master plan process. The Police Jury hired Fregonese Associates in July to develop the plan, which will address issues such as housing, transportation and economic development and provide a guide for future growth and development. Here is your chance to be a part of West Feliciana’s future.
